Rajasthan Royals Clinch Thrilling Victory over Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL Eliminator

The Rajasthan Royals edged out the Royal Challengers Bangalore by a narrow margin of 4 wickets in a tense Eliminator encounter of the Indian Premier League. Chasing a target of 173, the Royals rode on crucial contributions from Yashasvi Jaiswal (45) and Riyan Parag (36) to secure a dramatic victory with 6 balls remaining.

Earlier, RCB skipper Faf du Plessis opted to bat first, but their batting faltered as they could only manage 172/8. Virat Kohli became the first batsman to reach 8,000 IPL runs during his knock of 33, but a lack of substantial partnerships hampered their progress. Avesh Khan and Ravichandran Ashwin shared five wickets for the Royals, with Ashwin particularly impressive, conceding only 19 runs in his four overs.

In reply, the Royals got off to a promising start with Jaiswal and Tom Kohler-Cadmore adding 46 for the opening wicket. However, wickets fell at regular intervals, putting pressure on the middle order. Parag's well-timed 36 and cameos from Shimron Hetmyer (26) and Rovman Powell (16*) ensured the Royals crossed the finish line in a thrilling finish. Lockie Ferguson had a chance to win the match for RCB in the penultimate over, needing to defend 13 runs, but Powell smashed a six off the last ball to seal the win for Rajasthan.
