Bhuvneshwar Kumar & Nitish Kumar Reddy heroic seal last ball victory over Rajasthan Royals

Sunrisers Hyderabad Defeats Rajasthan Royals in Thrilling Encounter

Bhuvneshwar Kumar Heroic lead SRH last Ball Victory by 1 Run

In a high-octane clash between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Rajasthan Royals (RR), SRH emerged victorious in a nail-biting finish, clinching a one-run win that kept their hopes alive in the tournament.

Opting to bat first, SRH faced an initial hiccup as their openers failed to provide a flying start, managing only 37 runs and losing two wickets in the powerplay. However, Travis Head's gritty half-century and Nitish Kumar Reddy's career-best T20 innings propelled the innings forward. Head and Nitish stitched a crucial 96-run partnership for the third wicket, laying a strong foundation for SRH. Despite a few missed chances, including a potential run-out and a dropped catch, SRH capitalized on their middle-order prowess with Nitish (76* off 42) and Heinrich Klaasen (42* off 19) adding an unbeaten 70-run stand for the fourth wicket. This partnership propelled SRH past the 200-run mark, posting a challenging total of 201/3 in their 20 overs.

While Boult, Avesh Khan, and Sandeep Sharma were economical with their spells, the spinners, particularly Chahal, faced a tough time as they were taken to the cleaners, conceding 62 runs in just 4 overs.

RR, chasing a daunting target of 202, suffered an early setback with the quick dismissals of Jos Buttler and skipper Sanju Samson in the opening over itself. However, a sensational recovery was orchestrated by Yashasvi Jaiswal and Riyan Parag, who countered aggressively and maintained the required run rate.

Jaiswal (67 off 40)and Parag (77 off 49), both benefitting from lifelines during their innings, constructed a remarkable 133-run partnership, keeping RR's hopes alive. However, despite their valiant efforts, neither could see their team through to victory. The SRH pacers, led by Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Pat Cummins, and T Natarajan, displayed clinical bowling in the death overs, seizing crucial wickets and tightening the screws on RR's chase.

In a dramatic final over, Bhuvneshwar Kumar held his nerves against Rovman Powell and delivered a masterful performance, conceding just enough to deny RR the win they were closing in on. Bhuvneshwar's three wickets, supported by Cummins and Natarajan's two wickets each, proved instrumental in SRH's narrow triumph.

"Ahh... That is my nature. But again, the process is very important. Even in the last over, I wasn't thinking too much. There was no conversation with respect to the last finished. We were just focusing on the process. I was not thinking about the result. It was about focusing on the particular delivery.
Two great balls and anything might have occurred in the last finished.
I was thoughtless. I know; it was a full toss in the last ball. Yet, he (Powell) missed it, and afterward you realize what occurred. I was not the least bit pondering where the defender was or where the player planned to hit me. My total spotlight was on executing the conveyance.

The ball swung tonight. It was the initial time this season that the ball swung that much. I enjoyed bowling with the new ball. I can't really pinpoint where the ball swung last.I was sufficiently fortunate to get the wickets.

My perspective altogether changed now with the manner in which these hitters are continuing on ahead. I was thinking differently at the start of the season, but it has changed completely. Basically, when we bowled, we were attempting to confine groups to somewhere near 200."

Pat Cummins winning Captain :-

"Yeah, amazing game. The game was not done until we bowled the last ball. It's T20 cricket. We getting used to batters going over the line. In the last over, we thought anything can happen. Bhuvi nailed those last six yorkers. On the last ball, we pondered the Really finished.

You attempt to get a few wickets in the center overs. It's hard. Nattu is an awesome yorker bowler. But they batted really well. We had to stick to our plans and happy to get over the line.

We have played a few games here where 200 have been pursued down. You can't allow class players opportunities however they played all around well.

Nitish played all around well. Took the initial 10 balls to get set and took on the bowlers. He is astonishing. Extraordinary in the field and provide us with two or three helpful overs."
