CSK Pacer Matheesha Pathirana Suffers Hamstring Injury, Returns to Sri Lanka for Recovery

CSK have been dealt a blow with their key pacer, Matheesha Pathirana, ruled out of the remainder of IPL 2024 due to a hamstring injury.

The young Sri Lankan bowler, who impressed in his debut season for CSK, will be returning to his home country for further recovery. Pathirana was in excellent form this season, picking up 13 wickets in just six matches at an impressive economy rate of 7.68. He was the team's second-highest wicket-taker behind Mustafizur Rahman (14 wickets).

Pathirana's absence is a significant setback for CSK's bowling attack, already hit by injuries to Deepak Chahar and Dwayne Bravo. The team management will be hoping for the fast bowler's swift recovery ahead of the upcoming international season.
